Pond King Inc. started with offering lake management services and fish stocking in 1995. During the last twenty-one years we have initiated production of several originally designed products, such as Mini Pontoon Boats, Floating Docks, Artificial Fish Habitat, Fish Feeders, Turtle Traps, Deer Feeders, Duck Blinds, Fire Pits, and Fajita Cookers.
In 2015 we opened Pond King Mercantile and Lake Pro Tackle which features a variety of unique, hand crafted items including: wood carvings and furniture, paintings, photographic prints, ceramics, all-natural candles, soaps, and more! Many of the pieces are works of local Texas artists. The idea of our Mercantile first began with the desire to create a destination with an old-fashioned feel, that was, like we are, Authentically American. We strive to fill our shelves with the best products, and the trusted names our customers are looking for.
Our motto for our Lake Pro Tackle store is “We don’t carry everything…just the good stuff!” Come by our brand new retail store and you’ll find a reel bar with over 75 reels from top brand manufacturers; a bulk worm bar with over 500 bins filled with premium plastics at half the cost; as well as several aisles of fishing tackle from brands you know and love, and several brands you can’t find everywhere–all at warehouse pricing! If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out. It’s worth the drive!
As we have grown, we have maintained our primary goal of producing quality products and services for the outdoor enthusiast that will stand the test of time.
We take great pride in our lake management and fish stocking services that have formed the foundation of our business. We maintain the best equipment for the job, to ensure that the customer is getting their money’s worth. We offer a wide array of services including consulting, lake surveys, vegetation treatments, clearing muddy ponds, and water quality management. Each lake management service is available individually or set up as a monthly maintenance contract.
When it comes to following up with fish stocking recommendations, whether it’s just a few fingerling catfish or stocking an entire lake with bass, we have you covered. When you purchase fish from Pond King you’re also getting the expertise that comes from years of lake management experience with Texas waters. We know what size and specie combinations work the best. We don’t sell you the fish we have, we get you the fish you need.
Our Fish Barn, located just west of Gainesville, Texas, is one of the largest fish retail outlets in North Texas. We carry 20 species of fish in a variety of sizes throughout the year. No need to worry about catching the fish truck next time, just come by our location anytime to pick-up your fish. Larger orders can be delivered to your property with guaranteed satisfaction. We take our time acclimating your fish to eliminate any loss resulting from the initial transfer. We offer bulk pricing and free custom quotes to fit your needs.
The quality of our products reflects our commitment to build each and every one with a sense of pride. Here at Pond King, we measure our success with a square and a level, not the bottom-line. Our products are designed to give the customer a lifetime of use.
Our Mini Pontoon Boats, Floating Docks, Fish Habitat, Turtle Traps, Deer Feeders, Duck Blinds, Fire Pits, and Fajita Cookers are all built right here at our facilities. This gives the customer the opportunity to view the fabrication process and recognize the effort and the quality materials that go into each product we make. You can walk through our displays to determine what size and options meet your needs. For our long distance customers, we offer a full refund of the purchase price of any of our products if you are disappointed in any way upon delivery. We stand behind everything we sell because we built it.
“THE BEST TIMES ARE SPENT DOWN AT THE POND. Since I was old enough to hold a pole, I have enjoyed fishing small ponds and lakes. Nothing beat a Sunday afternoon fishing with Dad after collecting the required jug of grasshoppers or can of worms. It was no surprise to my parents that I later pursued a degree in Wildlife & Fishery Sciences at Texas A&M University. I have my own family now and some of the best times are spent down at the pond. That’s why I have built my business around the family experience of fishing in small ponds and lakes.”
